Bridgemill is one of the best known amenity communities in Canton, and right now it has more homes for sale than just about any neighborhood in town. Here’s what’s there, what it costs, and how the HOA and the club actually work.

Where is Bridgemill?

Bridgemill is in the Sixes area of Canton (ZIP 30114). From I-575, take exit 11 (Sixes Road), and the main entrance is about 3 miles in. There are secondary entrances too. The BridgeMill Athletic Club is at 1190 BridgeMill Avenue. You’ll see it spelled both “Bridgemill” and “BridgeMill”; same place.

What homes are in Bridgemill, and what do they cost?

Bridgemill is mostly single family detached homes, and the typical home that sold this past year was built around 2001.

In the last 6 months alone, 52 homes closed at a $592,000 median. Most sales land between about $530,000 and $690,000, with a few well above that on the golf course. Prices are softer than a year ago, and there are a lot of homes to pick from, so buyers have room to negotiate. If you’re selling, pricing it right from day one matters even more with that much competition.

What does the HOA cost, and what does it cover?

The base HOA dues in Bridgemill are low, about $200 to $220 a year. That covers grounds maintenance, and every resident can use the community park and pavilion.

The big thing to know: golf, pool and tennis are not included in the dues. They come with an optional, separate membership at the BridgeMill Athletic Club, so your real yearly cost depends on whether you join and at what level.

What is there to do in and around Bridgemill?

The golf course is the centerpiece: an 18 hole championship course that opened in 1998, designed by Desmond Muirhead and Larry Mize, on more than 250 acres, with a driving range, pro shop and dining. It’s known for the island green on the 16th hole.

Beyond golf, the club has:

  • A two acre aquatic center
  • A tennis center and pickleball
  • A 24 hour fitness center
  • Basketball and sand volleyball
  • A playground, plus the community park and pavilion
  • Featherstone, the club’s restaurant

There are resident groups too, like a garden club, a book club and a service league. For downtown Canton, Etowah River Park and the rest of the area, see our Living in Canton guide.

How do you get around from Bridgemill?

Sixes Road takes you about 3 miles to I-575 at exit 11, then south toward Woodstock, I-75 and Atlanta, or north toward downtown Canton. Rush hour on 575 is the thing to test, so drive it at the time you’d actually commute.

What I’d tell a friend

Bridgemill gives you more house and more established trees than a lot of newer neighborhoods at a similar price. The big thing to check is the athletic club: membership is separate from your HOA dues, so price that in if you want the pools and courts. Also confirm which school zone the address is in with the district, since it can change by street.
